The Bay Kids, LLC Childcare and Early Learning Center opened their doors in June of 2015.  David Houghton (Owner) and Shannon O'Steen (Director) both with children of their own, had decided to bring a new childcare center where the kids and their families were to be the primary focus. Sure, early education is important., but what about  the crippling costs of sending your child to a daycare center?

We changed all that.

We are affordable for most families, we accept tuition assistance programs where feasible, and yet we are still able to provide the top-notch services you expect for your children. Sure, there are in-home daycares; some are great, some are not. Are you getting what you pay for, or is the "caretaker" watching TV, or doing dishes while your kids roam the house, yard, or worse - the road out front of the house...?

If the cost is low, check carefully on what you are getting for that cost.

  The Bay Kids, LLC Childcare and Early Learning Center provides a warm and loving family environment for children. With our smaller size, we can provide quality, professional care to families at the most affordable prices. We also offer various discounts and limited participation in voucher programs to help with the overall cost of care.

Many basic child care necessities are provided at no additional cost by The Center. This helps reduce some of the burden for families where finances are an issue.

For children with special needs, we work to provide the best care possible while helping families explore all additional community resources available to assist families in giving their child the best approach to learning and growing into this big new world.

We view The Center as a family, the importance of family bonds cannot be understated; siblings are encouraged to interact with one another, and we want everyone involved - children, parents, and staff alike - to feel like they are part of our extended family.

Children here are encouraged to be children; we do not believe they are small adults. The individual progress, growth, and development of every child is important to us. The environment at The Center promotes learning while having fun. Through a mixture of hands-on experiences, group activities, and individual play, our children develop the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical skills necessary for all aspects of life and growth.

We provide a wide range of age-appropriate learning opportunities for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age, and we are considering bringing back before and after school care for children up to the age of 10 years. (School Age), to develop and grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally, while also learning the physical skills necessary for day-to-day life.

Parent comments and suggestions are encouraged and are taken into serious consideration as we continually strive to improve, and adapt to new challenges. The children are not the only ones who are engaged in the learning experience - Each one of our staff and parents also learn from the children.
